Meet the Humans of Snipp - Jason Osborn

Jason Osborn - Director of Project Management, Mesa-Arizona

Football Coach, Marine Corps & Mountain Biker

When Jason isn’t on client calls, he’s usually on the football field or basketball court – coaching his three kids and their friends. From time to time, he takes off on his motorcycle to the mountains of Arizona, where he feels the demands of “life melt away.”

Jason entered the tech world in the early 2000s, transitioning from a junior software developer to a product manager and product owner over the years. In another lifetime, he served in the Marine Corps for almost two and half years and trained police dogs when he was a teenager. However, he has no luck with his present “extremely lazy” dogs – Chunk, a Staffordshire Terrier, and Australian Shepherd, Chewy.

Success is the RIGHT creative solution…

At Snipp, Jason works with the loyalty platform, enabling the efficiency of daily operations and customer success.

“Often success is measured by completing a timeline or ticking all the boxes,” says Jason. ”But for me, it’s about finding the RIGHT creative solution, even if the road there was not initially intended or part of the brief.”

Jason finds that at Snipp, he’s able to achieve his kind of success because of the extensive interaction across teams.

“You can call anyone for help, and they will make time to support you,” says Jason about Snipp’s unique work culture. “At most other companies, things can get quickly isolating. Not everyone wants to help if the work lies outside their projects.”

Conquering the fear of failure with team support

Jason finds that along with finding the right solutions, a supportive team also allows the fear of failure to be conquered.

Though he doesn’t regard failure as an adversary. He often tells his kids to embrace failure without fear, for it is a greater teacher than success, encouraging “retrospection” in the areas of life that need improvement.

If you happen to fail because of procrastination, Jason won’t have any empathy for you.
