Meet the Humans of Snipp - Rickard Farrell

Rickard Farrell - Senior Project Manager, Cork, Ireland 

Artist, librarian & techie

Surrounded by rivers, uplands, and hills, daily runs in the countryside of Cork for Rickard are essential. Generally upbeat, Rickard only gets bogged down by the Irish mid-winter, though spring always makes up for the gloomy days.

After struggling as an artist for several years and dabbling as a librarian, Rickard decided to take a leap of faith and go back to college at age 32. Graduating with a degree in Interactive Media, he built new skillsets in tech – from coding to database management. Over the past decade at Snipp, Rickard has transitioned from a UX designer to process manager. He now heads a team of project managers.

Connections formed across oceans

“At Snipp, everyone is always available to anyone on the team. Despite being in different parts of the world, we communicate efficiently throughout the organization, “ shares Rickard. “That is rare for a mid-size company of 120 people.”

Though, what Rickard loves most about working at Snipp is conversations with a multicultural team that spans across Asia, North America, and Europe.

“It’s not every day that you can meet people from across oceans without leaving your home,” says Rickard. “But at Snipp, you can.”

Beating the fear of failure

For Rickard, milestones at Snipp are marked every time a challenging project is pulled off through team effort or when his team is under pressure, and together, they figure out a way to navigate their way out smoothly.

“You have to beat the fear of failure when times get hard,” says Rickard. “And just get things done to the best of your ability.”
